Data Science Club: Rising High in World of AI

By Krrish Gayash

The Data Science Club has gotten off to a great start this year. In a world where code is being written by AI agents and models are a dime a dozen, the main leverage we humans have is data. We need to understand why data is so important in this future race of AI. The Data Science Club teaches us exactly that, and prepares and sends us to different competitions to represent our school as the Stratford CS team. Run by our amazing Mr. Thaker and a fabulous high school CS team, we have started to understand machine learning and how data really impacts it.

We first learned the basics of machine learning, neural networks, and AI in general. The first few weeks focused on how AI models learn, why data is so important, and how those concepts can be applied to everyday life. After maybe a few weeks or months, we’ll enter our first competition, with many more to come!

Are we overwhelmed by the explosion of AI around us? Yes, we definitely are. What is the best way to deal with it? It is simply staying informed. That’s why the Data Science Club can help us stay ahead of the curve at Stratford Preparatory. Maybe in the future, we’ll build something big enough to help the community as Stratford’s Data Science team!
